My first blog!

By theskittishscribe

I decided, due to the atmosphere of Myspace’s blog circuit being made up largely of angry 12 year olds that live in the American Midwest bitching about how “faggy” Stacy in their art class is for not giving them a hand shandy behind Walmart (I’m generalizing, but I’m a blogger, that’s my goal), to create a serious (more or less) blog on a specialized website, whether it will will work or not I don’t know, but hopefully with enough time and effort I can really make something of this.

This will contain not only my usual inane ramblings, comments on life, the universe and everything (and maybe a little bit of pop culture here and there) but also examples of my pieces of creative writing, both fiction and non fiction. Who knows, perhaps in a matter of years this will be a metaphorical marketplace of joy, prosperity and creativity… Okay, now I’m getting delusional.

Whether I sink or swim, I would like to mark this occassion as my first ever blog, and hope that it gets more than a couple of comments from complete strangers that read “u suk” or “go back to commie ville”. Well, we can all dream…

- Thomas “The Skittish Scribe” Harrison (snappy nickname, isn’t it? Ought to sink in a charm with my college pals… Once they’re done beating me senseless.)

P.S. I may post content that has already been on my old blog from time to time as well, what I can I say, I’m a fraud.

P.P.S. I’m (obviously) still new here, so bear with me if I make any mistakes (this website is quite intimidating when you’re behind the scenes).

I’ve decided, in my infinate wisdom, to leave my first comment here. Partially as I feel it decorates my first blog, second, no one can leave me a message that reads “taken your comment virginity, fucker!” and third, It’s nice to know that I have a good, valuble, trusted friend in this Mr. WordPress…

Fuckin’ Commie. I got Stacy to give that hand shandy to me in the end… Go back to playing a girl on the internet you fag…. Nice to see you doin’ your own thing Tom, good luck dude!

I’m glad man, I really am, although I did see her coming out of a clinic a while back, so you should get yourself checked over…

You better keep reading/spread the word, too :P

  5. Andy Says:

Great name, Tom – skittishness is a rare and valuable quality – we need more of it. Good luck.

  6. Caitlin Says:

Andy linked us up to your blog – I look forward to reading :)

With WordPress, most of it’s done with the Dashboard – bit at the top on the grey bar. It’s all relatively straight-forward if you just play around with it a bit – but if there’s anything in particular you wanted to do and you can’t work it out, feel free to ask! I…might know. No promises!

Oh my, what big words you have.

You realise that the tags go in alphabetica order so when you wrote ‘hello first blog ever’ it came out as ‘blog ever first hello’ just wanted to point it out…

das cool – look forward to communericating through the interwebzzzZZZZZz

    *sleeps*

Ah, Internet sarcasm, how I missed thy piercing flame. I have noticed the fault in my Tags, and will attempt to correct for that in the future, I should have realised sooner I guess, call it a beginner’s mistake. If I can remember my ABC, that is. Thanks for the feedback Lucy, although I have to admit my secret lies in the 5 English language thesaurus’ I have tucked away in my task bar, so perhaps my scribe description is merely to keep up the illusion of me having talent. I don’t know.

Caitlin, thank you for giving me some pointers, as well as the hope for the future, I have read some of your blogs and find them to be fascinating, keep up the excellent work :)

Andy, thanks for the recommendation/apprieciation, I only hope I can deliever some more relevant blogs in the future.

Once again I thank the three of you, and if I may be so crude, may the blogging commence!

    are we sparring?

    Personally I prefer a joust…

  10. theskittishscribe Says:

I hope not, I find that I tend to fall on my sword far too much for comfort, I’ve always been unsteady on my words. Jousting is entertaining, although nothing beats good old gladatorial combat for unadulterated pleasure.

In all seriousness however, I hope I didn’t seem to abrasive, I do accept that my knowledge of the English language, and the workings of this website, are rather limited at the moment. As I’m sure you know, I’ve never been the best at getting my point across… :)

  11. Lucy Says:

I like jousts because its a short burst of a fight then a rest to gather strength – never been much of a person to throw my puches fast, even on the net I get stuttery… lol

  12. theskittishscribe Says:

I get the “net stutters” myself, a lifelong habit I suppose…

  13. Lucy Says:

you gonna do another post or what?

    lol

  14. theskittishscribe Says:

lol, I did do one the other day, but it seemed to delete itself. I’m just working on one now :)

  15. WeAreNoOne Says:

Ooh, I spy vague internetz flirtation!

  16. theskittishscribe Says:

But of course, and that’s just between me and you :P
